Bawaslu Gandeng PWI Sosialiasi Pengawasan Pemllu
NUNUKAN – Badan Pengawas Pemilu (Bawaslu) Nunukan menggelar sosialisasi pengawasan pemilu partisipatif dengan fokus, media pada kampanye iklan dan kampanye media sosial, Sabtu (4/11/2023) di aula pertemuan Kantor Bupati Nunukan.
Kegiatan ini melibatkan Persatuan Wartawan Indonesia (PWI) Kalimantan Utara dan segenap wartawan di wilayah Kabupaten Nunukan. Selain itu, Bawaslu turut menghadirkan narasumber dari komisioner Bawaslu Kaltara, Dosen Fakultas Hukum Universitas Borneo Tarakan (UBT) dan Dewan Kehormatan PWI Kaltara.
“Rekan-rekan media kami harapkan benar-benar memperhatikan jadwal masa kampanye. Sehingga penempatan iklan pada media sesuai dengan jadwal yang telah ditetapkan yakni 21 hari sebelum masa tenang,” ungkap Sulaiman SH., LLM., Komisioner Bawaslu Kaltara.
Lanjutnya, iklan pada media turut dibagi dalam dua kategori. Yakni, iklan yang difasilitasi oleh penyelenggara pemilu atau oleh calon yang bersangkutan melalui pembiayaan pribadi.
Sementara itu, dalam sosialisasi Pemaknaan Pasal 492 UU Nomor 7 Tahun 2017, secara tegas disebutkan, setiap orang yang dengan sengaja melakukan kampanye diluar jadwal yang ditetapkan oleh KPU, dipidana dengan pidana kurungan paling lama I (satu) tahun dengan denda paling banyak Rp 12.000.000.
“Saya menekankan agar rekan-rekan media memperhatikan ketentuan ini, sehingga dalam menjalankan fungsi pers tetap sesuai ketentuan pemilu,” tegas Mumaddadah, Dosen Fakultas Hukum UBT.
Sementara itu, Dewan Kehormatan PWI Kaltara Rahmat Rolau menegaskan, pers dalam menjalankan fungsi dan tugasnya, tetap tegak lurus pada UU Pokok Pers Nomor 40 Tahun 1999.
Kegiatan sosialisasi ini turut dihadiri Ketua Bawaslu Nunukan Moch Yusran dan jajaran komisioner Bawaslu Nunukan lainnya. Hadir pula puluhan wartawan se-Kabupaten Nunukan bersama segenap pengurus PWI Kaltara. (tim)
